Applicable Products
- Capsules, tablets, powders, gummies and liquids submitted for assessment as dietary supplements in a specified market.
- A defined formula, daily use, intended users, label version and product SKU. Family or multi-SKU coverage requires an explicit list and a justified representative-sample basis.
- Medicinal claims, infant products, novel ingredients and uncertain classifications require case-specific scope confirmation.

Scope is determined by the formula, intended users, use conditions and supporting evidence.
The ingredients and manufacturing process may require evidence on pesticides, mycotoxins, residual solvents or targeted adulterants. Stability and active-ingredient data must support the label and stated shelf life. Required evidence cannot be waived by declining an optional service.
Risk-triggered evidence cannot be waived by declining an optional specialist service.

Nutritionist Label ReviewProfessional review of nutrition labeling and product information.
An external dietitian reviewer interprets nutrition information and reviews the nutrition panel, serving information and selected label statements against the product information and supporting evidence. The proposal identifies the reviewer and agreed scope. This optional service is separate from basic label-document consistency checks. The optional dietitian service provides review comments, revision recommendations and signed documentation appended to the final report.
Claim Evidence ReviewNutritionist review of selected nutrition and health claims.
For food and supplements, an external dietitian reviewer reviews benefit claims against evidence relevant to the finished product, amount consumed, intended population and exact claim wording. Ingredient presence alone does not demonstrate a finished-product benefit. The optional dietitian service provides review comments, revision recommendations and signed documentation appended to the final report. Specialist review does not guarantee certification. The TrustLab review team performs the technical review and makes the final certification decision.
Functional Ingredient VerificationSelected functional ingredients checked against label declarations.
Measured amounts of selected functional or marker ingredients are compared with the label declarations. The agreed scope identifies the finished product or batch, ingredients and supporting evidence.
Nutrient VerificationAnalytical evidence for selected declared nutrients.
Analytical evidence is reviewed for selected nutrients, such as protein, fat, sugars, sodium, vitamins or minerals. Laboratory analysis and Nutritionist Label Review are separate services with separately agreed scopes.
Targeted Ingredient ScreeningSelected prohibited substances, adulterants or impurities.
The proposal defines the substances, methods and reporting limits for the identified product risks. A targeted screening panel cannot rule out every possible substance. Evidence needed to address a safety concern remains required.
Extended Stability ReviewAdditional evidence of nutrient, ingredient or quality stability.
Additional stability data are reviewed for the agreed components and storage conditions. Evidence needed to support the product's stated shelf life remains a requirement, not an optional upgrade.
Batch VerificationEvidence and traceability for specified additional batches.
Testing and traceability records are reviewed for the additional batches identified in the agreed scope. A later batch is not automatically covered by an earlier report.
Market ReviewSelected market requirements and product documents.
The review addresses only the market, questions and documents identified in the proposal. It does not constitute government approval, import clearance or market authorization.
Optional services do not create a higher certification level. Necessary safety evidence and support for existing claims remain required.

Review Scope Confirmation
The proposal sets out product coverage, the evidence checklist, acceptance basis and any separately agreed specialist services. TrustLab receives product materials and supporting evidence. For agreed testing, TrustLab submits samples to third-party laboratories, which perform the tests and provide reports. The TrustLab review team performs the technical review and makes the final certification decision.
Optional Specialist Scope
Core review covers Identity, Safety, Label Accuracy and Traceability. Risk-triggered evidence is required when applicable, even when it has an additional cost. Optional specialist services extend the agreed scope; they are not higher certification levels and cannot replace required safety or label evidence.
Claims already made on the reviewed product need appropriate support or revision before approval. Core label checks do not, by themselves, establish every claimed benefit. Ingredient detection, a professional signature or softer wording alone does not establish finished-product efficacy.

Before You Submit Technical Evidence
The proposal identifies applicable criteria and the evidence checklist before new testing is commissioned. Third-party report review and new laboratory testing are separate services.
Multi-SKU or batch coverage requires an explicit list of covered versions and an appropriate sampling basis.
- Match the report to the finished product, formula and label versions, sample, SKU and batch. Ingredient COAs need an appropriate basis for application to the finished product.
- Identify the report issuer, original reference and relevant testing competence, including the actual scope of any claimed accreditation.
- Identify the sample source, sampling and testing dates, relevant handling conditions and the production represented by the sample.
- Check methods, product matrix, units, reporting limits, results and applicable criterion sources. Alternative methods need a documented suitability basis.
- Assess report age against the current formula, process, supplier, packaging, storage and market. Continued applicability, rather than a universal age cutoff, determines suitability.
- Resolve evidence gaps or inconsistencies with clarification, updated records or additional external testing as appropriate.
Product Coverage, Validity and Mark Permissions
Standard certification validity is 12 months unless the report states otherwise, subject to product changes and Certification Status.
TLCHECK may be used on certified product packaging and for approved e-commerce, advertising and retailer communication. Use is limited to the certified SKU, product and label versions, valid Certification Status and conditions stated in TrustLab's written approval. It does not certify an entire brand or imply government endorsement.
Food and supplements are classified by composition, presentation and market. Kids Care covers external personal care, not children's food. State the age range and rinse-off or leave-on use; therapeutic, disinfectant, sunscreen and special-population products require individual scoping.
